Begin with listening

Every project starts with time spent on site—watching light, wind, movement, and use. We map rhythms before we trace lines.

Four lenses we use

  • Climate: Sun path, seasonal wind, rain behavior, and thermal mass work with the plan.

  • Neighbourhood: Edges, overlook, noise, and privacy define openings and thresholds.

  • Ground: Water, trees, soil and levels—work with what exists.

  • People: Rituals and routines shape the section more than style.

Drawing what the site suggests

Good plans feel ‘found’. They are specific to their place and client, not generic. We prefer solutions that read as calm and inevitable rather than loud and generic.

Before we draw, we listen. The site tells us most of what we need to know.
